The Seated Odin Statue would make a great addition to any Norse altar. Odin is known as the All Father, the leader of the Norse Gods. He governs War, Death, Poetry, the Arts and Wisdom. There are many, many stories surrounding Odin. One of the more popular stories describes how he gave up one of his own eyes to drink from the Well of Wisdom. His ravens were said to fly across the world during the day and report all they witnessed to Odin upon their return.
In this statue he is depicted sitting upon his throne, his magickal spear Gungnir close at hand. His two hounds, Freki and Geri sit loyally at his feet, while his ravens, Hugin and Munin rest on his broad shoulders. Carved into the throne are runes and Norse symbolism. The runic inscription from the Havamal reads: “Take I up runes. I took up runes.” The back of the throne features artwork Odin hanging from the World Tree as a sacrifice. Crafted from high quality resin and hand painted in a wood grain finish, this statue pairs beautifully with the Seated Frigga Statue.
