This Maeve Statue certainly seems to emanate the very essence of the Intoxicating Queen of Desire. She is a goddess to be reckoned with. Her name translates to “she who intoxicates”. Indeed, she is renowned for her insatiable appetites for sex, power, and drink. She is also known as the English Queen of the Fairies.
A great warrior queen, she coveted the famous brown bull of Ulster. She schemed and wreaked havoc until he was hers, not to be denied her desires. She embodies obsession, addiction, blood lust and battle.
This statue depicts the Goddess as she sits confidently in her elegant throne, chalice in hand. She is jeweled from head to toe, and a large ornate crown sits upon her head. A crow perches on her arm and a squirrel rests on her shoulder.
At her feet is a beautifully detailed cauldron, shield, and an athame. The back of the throne is decorated with a pair of crossed spears, an overflowing chalice, oak leaves and acorns. There is also a horned steer in front of the rising sun. Made from cold cast resin and hand painted in a bronze finish.
