Herbal Dhoop Coals

These native Himalayan Herbal Dhoop Coals are a fantastic alternative to traditional charcoal discs.  The Triloka Herbal Dhoop Coals are made from various herbs and woods, pressed into convenient strip of six coals. These coals contain no chemicals or harmful additives.  Even the packaging is environmentally friendly, printed on recycled, handmade paper. 

Since ancient times cultures throughout the world have recognized that many natural substances have purifying or healing properties when burned.  The burning of ‘dhoops’ or botanical mixtures was a daily ritual usually performed at sunrise and sunset.  Because virtually all homes made daily fires, the coals were readily available.  The hot coals were placed into a censor and used for burning herbs.

To use, simply break off a piece of the dhoop coal and light a corner.  Once it begins to smolder place the coal in a fireproof container.  Add your favorite resin, herbs, or powdered incense and enjoy the sweet aroma.  Hand made by a Nepal cottage industry.  Each package contains six tablets.
