Bastet Statue

This Bastet Statue is a perfect representation of the Egyptian goddess.  Bastet, also known as Bast has gone through changes in both appearance as well as roles.  Originally it is believed she was depicted as a savage deity with the head of a lion.  Later Her image transformed into that of a woman’s body and the head of a domestic cat.  Along with her change in appearance, she was also transformed into a peaceful and approachable deity.  She became known as a nurturer and protector of all households. Families soon began to invite cats inside their homes, thinking that they brought with them the spirit of Bastet.  Made from cold cast resin and hand painted in striking black and gold colors.
